PRACTICAL GUIDE

Rental-friendly wall decor: plan it before you hang it

Habitat Mini · September 30, 2026 · Documentary analysis

Start with the wall, the lease and the object’s weight. Adhesive strips are not insurance against damage, or a universal mounting system.

1. Choose the result before the product

Do you want colour, light control or a focal point? Try moving a frame or reusing a textile first. Keep walkways and outlets accessible.

2. Measure and weigh

Weigh the frame including glass and artwork. Check clearance for removal. For curtains, measure the rod, drop and surrounding clearance.

3. Check the surface

Use the exact product instructions to confirm compatibility. Damaged paint, textured surfaces and wallpaper are not automatically suitable.

4. Plan for moving out

Keep the instructions and photograph the wall beforehand. Removal needs as much care as installation. Avoid valuable or heavy objects unless the system explicitly supports them.

Choose the right Command family

Our Command listing is a medium hook refill. Frames need a system explicitly designed for picture hanging; this refill does not replace interlocking picture strips.
